On the corner tower of the Capitania do Porto de Ponta Delgada is an appropriate naval flagpole for the harbour master. The Portuguese flag is on the yardarm. A white flag with a green cross is on the lanyard.

Ponta Delgada is the most important port in the Azores with traffic ranging from large cruise ships to container carriers and bulk cargo ships to tankers. The port authority, harbour master, is the Capitania do Porto de Ponta Delgada. Prominent on the corner of their building along the strand is an appropriate but limited naval flag pole.
