In Plattsburgh, at a bay of Lake Champlain, is the Champlain Park.
The park is located off Cumberland Ave, east of Plattsburgh City Hall.
The park is an open space between Cumberland Ave. and the shore. Near the road is a monument with a granite base and a bronze sculpture of the French Explorer, Samuel de Champlain, who discovered this lake and explored the area in 1609. Walkways lead to the shore by the lake where there are benches. Off to one side is a gazebo, put up by the local Rotary Club. There are also picnic tables in the park.
I did not find any signs that named the park - the monument may have been intended as the 'sign.'
