In Plattsburgh, within Champlain Park, is a gazebo with a nice view of a monument and a Lake honoring the discoverer, Samuel de Champlain.
Champlain Park is located off Cumberland Ave. Park on the street. The gazebo is easily visible, south of the monument for Champlain.
The gazebo is a wooden structure with a peaked shingle roof. The structure is not much more than a frame with posts and railings and other decorative features. Inside is a bench that extends along seven of the sides. The gazebo is surrounded by low bushes. A plaque nearby states that the gazebo was built by the local Rotary Club in 1993.
