EN: The mining car filled with stones stands at the roadside next to the firehouse of Witterswil.
Until the 1950s, in the hills south of town a special type of clay called Hupper was quarried and transported to the valley in these cars.
DE: Die mit Steinen gefüllte Lore steht beim Feuerwehrmagazin von Witterswil am Strassenrand.
Am Höhenzug südlich von Witterwil wurde bis in die 1950er Jahre Huppererde - eine spezielle Sorte von Ton - abgebaut und mit solchen Wagen ins Tal befördert.
