In Plattsburg, on Cumberland Avenue, is the Kent-DeLord House, which is a listing in the American Guide Series book for New York.
The book has the following text about the house:
TheKENT-DELORD HOUSE (adm. 50 cnts), 17 Cumberland Ave., is a long two-story structure with end chimneys and a one-story pedimented entrance portico. Chancellor James Kent is associated with the house only by virtue of having represented his wife in the sale of the property. It was purchased in 1810 by Henry DeLord, a French refugee from Martinique, who remodeled it. In the house are the DeLord family records and household treasures, including fine old furniture, an early Chickering piano, portraits, silver, and curlos from Europe and China. An old chaise stands in the barn.
-- American Guide Series: New York - A Guide to the Empire State, p. 553.
The house still stands and is still a museum, though I did not have a chance to see the inside. The house is painted white and has a peaked shingled roof. Off one side is either a sun room or a kind of conservatory. Surrounding the house is a white fence. In front is a carriage step stone.
There is a sign near the house that stated that this house was used by the British as their headquarters during the Battle of Plattsburg during the War of 1812.
