In Plattsburgh, across from Plattsburgh City Hall, is the Macdonough Memorial, which is listed in the American Guide Series book for New York.
The book has the following about this memorial:
The MACDONOUGH MEMORIAL, S. River St. in front of city hall, was designed by John Russell Pope. It is an obelisk of Indiana limestone, 135 feet high, and is decorated with reliefs and the names of the principal ships of Macdonough's fleet - Saratoga, Ticonderoga, Preble, and Eagle.
-- American Guide Series: New York - A Guide to the Empire State, p. 553.
The monument is still present. The obelisk is in the center of a small plaza, within municipal land. The obelisk has even walls and tapers slightly with height, then tapers sharply at the top. On top is a bronze eagle.
