In 1891 two buildings that occupied this space were destroyed by a fire. The current building was built in 1892 to replace the destroyed two. The first tenants to the building were a jewelry store and a grocery store. The South store remained a jewelry store up until at least 2003. Today the South store is a sewing store called the Blue Bobbin. The North store started as a dry goods store from 1892 until at least 1900. Then by at least 1905 it became a clothing store which lasted at least beyond 1922 to include Blue Front Clothing in 1908. In 1933 an unnamed store occupied the store. Today it's still used for retail space.
