Early in 1926, two buildings owned by L.C. Boyle and Fred Eckhart, burned down in the same location as this building. Later in the year, the two businessmen got together to build one building to replace the two. Listed in the NRHP as 119-123 S. Main Street and with the Wisconsin Historical Society as 121-123 S. Main Street, this building's first tenants was the Schultz Bros. Co. Dime Store. The smaller side of the building 119, was owned by Boyle. The larger side 121-123 (according to the NRHP) was owned by Eckhart. This building was said to have been designed by La Crosse architects Parkinson & Dockendorff. Today the building houses Rockweiler Appliance & TV and another retail space.
