Kathryn A. Seligman Gellman, 28, died suddenly due from heart failure while on holiday in Lake Tahoe, Nev. Born in Stockton, Mrs. Gellman graduated from Lincoln High School.
She left Stockton in 1983 to attend University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her degree in political science. In 1986, she interned in Washington, D.C., for Rep. Fortney Pete Stark, D-Hayward. She moved back to Stockton in 1990 after graduating from UCLA and continued earning her teachers credential from National University in Stockton.
From 1990 to 1991, she was a substitute teacher for Oakland Unifed School District. She later taught at Dublin Avenue Magnet School in Los Angeles before moving to San Francisco in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, she taught at the Discovery Center School in San Francisco. She was a member of Alpha Kai Omega and Temple Israel in Stockton.
Survivors: husband, Bruce Gellman of San Francisco; daughter, Jennifer R. Gellman of San Francisco; parents, Cyril and Howard Seligman, both of Stockton; brother, Brian Seligman of Stockton; and grandparents, Idl Seligman and Cy Stone, both of Stockton.
