"District Five, consists of six counties: Santa Fe, Torrance, Rio Aria, Taos, Los Alamos and San Juan. The District extends from Gran Quivira to the Colorado State line and the terrain varies from a flat rolling country to a hilly mountainous country. There are 2,000 miles of road maintained by this District. 92% of this mileage os above 6,000 feet altitude. The District is also responsible for construction of new roads."
