Am 07.11.2016 wurde auf dem Bonner Marktplatz ein Trinkwasserbrunnen der niederländischen gemeinnützigen Organisation "Join the Pipe" eingeweiht. Die Organisation verkauft Trinkwasserspender an Städte, Kommunen, Vereine, Firmen, etc. in reichen Industriestaaten. Von dem Gewinn werden Wasser-Infrastrukturprojekte in Entwicklungsländern z.B. in Afrika oder Asien finanziert. So entsteht für jeden in Industrieländern aufgestellten Wasserspender ein entsprechendes Projekt in Entwicklungsländern.

Bisher ist die Organisation hauptsächlich in den Niederlanden aktiv und bekannt. Dort haben sie bereits über 450 Brunnen aufgestellt. Aber auch in Belgien, England, Deutschland, Kanada und Australien finden sich bereits einzelne Exemplare. Und nun auch in Bonn das bereits zweite auf dem Marktplatz.

Finanziert wurde der Wasserspender von den dortigen Markthändlern, die sich neben den wohltätigen Aspekten davon mehr Komfort für ihre Kunden erhoffen. So können die Kunden nicht nur ihrern Durst stillen, sondern auch ihr auf dem Marktplatz erworbenes Obst vor Ort waschen und verzehren.

On 11/07/2016 a drinking-water fountain of the Dutch non-profit organization "Join the Pipe" was inaugurated on the marketplace of Bonn. The organization sells water dispensers to cities, municipalities, associations, companies, etc. in rich industrial nations. With the profit they finance water infrastructure projects in developing countries, e.g. in Africa or Asia. This way, for each water dispenser built in industrial nations an accoding project is established in a developing country.

Until now the organization is active and known primarily in the Netherlands. They built over 450 fountains there. But there are already a few of them in Belgium, UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia, too. And now the second one of Bonn is located on the marketplace.

The water displenser was financed by the local marketers. In addition to the charitable aspects, they hope for more comfort for their customers. The cusomers cannot only allay their thirst, but also wash and eat the fruit bought on the marketplace.
