A polychrome bronze plaque is palced inside the Massachusetts State House in honor of the members of the United States 8th Army Air Force who served during World War II. The plaque has, on top, the image of the 8th Army Air Force Eighth Air Force shoulder patch that was worn on the left side of the uniform by members of the United States Army Air Forces during World War II and, at the bottom, a white star on a circular blue field superimpose on a white bar that was used as an insignia on aircraft. In between is the inscription:

IN HONOR OF THE MEN AND WOMEN
OF MASSACHUSETTS WHO SERVED
1942 - 1945
IN THE LONG DARK YEARS, THE TRIALS,
