Im Mai 1896 begann der Bau, Grundsteinlegung war im Juni 1896. Die Einweihung erfolgte in Juli 1897. Das Dach wurde mit Schiefer gedeckt, aber 1982 durch Kupfer ersetzt.

Die drei Stahlglocken stammen aus dem Jahr 1922 da die ursprüngliche Bronzeglocke im 1. WK eingeschmolzen werden musste. Die erste Orgel war 1900 gebaut worden. Die heutige Orgel stammt aus 1973 vom Berliner Orgelbaumeister Karl Schuke. (visit link)

Die Reformierten (evangelischen) Christen sind in Ostfriesland stark vertreten, denn Flüchtlinge aus den Spanisch-Niederländischen Religionskriegen fanden in Emden Zuflucht. Construction started in May 1886 and was finished in Juni 1897. The roof of the church was made of slate, but changed to copper in 1982.

The three bells were set up in 1922 as the original beel was fused-in during World War I (the bronze was needed). The first pipe organ was built in 1900. The current organ was made in 1973 by Mr. Karl Schuke from Berlin.
