This evocative bronze sculpture by Garland Weeks, "Between Broncs" stads outside the main entryway yo the Ranching heritage Center in Lubbock Texas.

It shows a cowboy taking a brief rest on his haunches between busting broncs (wild horses) on the ranch he works. The cowboy is tired but happy in his work, and has one of the tools of the bronc-busting trade still looped around his left wrist.

A plaque at the base reads as follows:

A rodeo cowboy resting on his haunches. He has his hat on and a bandanna around his neck. His rope is on the ground in front of him and his saddle leans against his back. The sculpture is placed atop a square base.
