Hanging in front of a historic building is a marker that reads:

FIRE BUILDING THIS SPANISH COLONIAL REVIVAL STYLE BUILDING, DESIGNED BY BIRGE CLARK, WAS BUILT IN 1927. IT HOUSED THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS, THE POLICE COURT AND THE JAIL. IT WAS VACATED IN 1970. THE INTERIOR WAS REDESIGNED BY WALTER STROMQUIST AND THE BUILDING DEDICATED AS THE SENIOR CENTER IN 1978.
