Sanborn shows that this building was built some time between 1892 and 1900 while other sources put the exact year at 1898. The earliest use of this building was for a boot and shoe store and in 1908 it housed the H.D. Williams Boots and Shoe Store. This building was used as a shoe and boot store up until at least 1922. In 1933 an unnamed retail store was in the building. By 1940 the building was alter from the original building on the first floor, but the second floor has remained intact to this day. In 2003 this building was the home of Langus Shoe Repair Shop returning the building to its original use. Today though the store is home to the Driftless Angler which is a full service fly fishing outlet for equipment and local guides.
