In the earlier years of surveying, the surveyors used many things to mark areas. Surveyors for the CGS often used local church spires as they were considered to be a potential permanent fixture in the area. This church spire is on an amazing old church in the middle of nowhere. This is an amazing drive up a coulee to reach this fantastic location. In the higher elevation down either County Highway J or County Highway Y is where you will find it. Look up and you will see the original over 100 year old spire marking this point.
