In Keeseville, within Ausable Chasm, is this sign that marks attractions within the Adirondacks Region, which has a 'You Are Here' marker pointed at the chasm.

The sign is within the main building for the Ausable Chasm, in a room that is used for history exhibits. The building is right off New York 9N, at one end of the bridge over the chasm. The sign is near the door.

The sign is made of wood painted with a yellow background. Features and border are painted either blue or brown. The features include Lake Champlain and Lake George on the right, various highways criss-crossing, key settlements, and various attractions. Affixed to the surface is a small marker that says, "You Are Here" and an arrow pointing to the text "Ausable Chasm" and figure representing the chasm.

There is text below the sign:

"A Sign of the Times
Adirondack Park Attractions promotional sign, late 1950s

This late 1950s sign by artist, creative genius and theme park designer Arto Monaco (1913-2005) of nearby Upper Jay, New York, shows Adirondack Mountain region attractions operating at that time.

The sign represents a bygone era of Adirondack tourism history. Interstate 87 does not yet exist - it would not be completed through the Adirondacks until 1987. U.W. Route 9, which passes Ausable Chasm, was the main north-south route linking New Your City and Albany with the Adirondacks and Montreal. Bumper-to-bumper traffic on Route 9 was common pre-interstate, especially in the summer..."

The sign then lists several attractions that either do not exist or have been changed.

Ausable Chasms still stands, but the history room shows how much this attraction has changed since - mostly due to raging floods.
