The Glenn County Superior Courthouse is a beautiful building containing Gothic revival architecture and erected in 1894, after Willows officially became the county seat in 1891. The courthouse originally had a cupola (dome) on the roof but was removed in 1951 after an earthquake for safety reasons. This courthouse still functions in the same capacity today. There's a building next door that used to function as county jail before a newer jail was erected south of the courthouse and old jail and on the same block.

It's sad to see many of the original embellishments be removed from the courthouse, as one can see when comparing the two pictures.
