City of Saarbrücken's Coat of Arms at the Old Town Hall.
Although the baroque town hall was built in 1750, the current coat of arms was installed later (late 19th century).
On the chest of the royal eagle (CoA Kingdom of Prussia 1871-1914), the shield with the CoA of the City of Saarbrücken (Silver Lion with four crosses on blue background) (similar CoA of the ancient Counts of Saarbrücken-Commercy).

This specific CoA was used until 1909, when the cities Saarbrücken, Sankt Johann and Malstatt-Burbach merged to Greater Saarbrücken with a new CoA.
