Located across the street from the Glenn County Superior Courthouse is the Veterans Memorial Hall, a beautiful Greek-inspired building that was erected in 1930 as a World War I memorial. I found this out by seeing a book online, titled Willows about the history of the town and an excerpt reads:

On June 5, 1917, the eligible young men of the county registered for the draft for the war that was being fought half a world away. Willows went all out in the war effort, and Glenn County was the first county in the United States to subscribe its maximum quota for the Second Liberty Loan of 1917, a great portion of which was taken through the local banks. When the war ended, general pandemonium broke out, the Willows Journal published a 2:00 a.m. extra edition, the fire bell changed, and a parade of many automobiles, with horns honking and flags waving, toured town. The Civic Memorial Hall, built in memory of the men who served in World War I, was dedicated on April 19, 1930, and is still a vital gathering place.
