Long Description:
This is one of the neatest survey markers I've recovered. This granite boundary marker is an obelisk-shaped monument and is one of three survey monuments: an NGS bolt monumented on a granite block in 1894, a granite boundary monument monumented next the bolt in 1899 dividing Nevada and California and a metal General Land Office Survey disk from 1946 monumented on the granite monument's west face, also dividing the state of Nevada and the state of California.

This obelisk-shaped granite monument is designated with the letter 'N' engraved on its north side for 'Nevada' and the letter 'C' engraved on its south side for 'California'.

The NGS datasheet to the copper bolt (PID JR1261) is now mostly obsolete. The two houses mentioned and most of the trees have been destroyed to make room for a new golf resort complex at Edgewood Tahoe golf resort. One of the golf fairways has been re-routed and now resides next to this monument. The monument stands between the golf fairway and the resort beach. This monument is on private property belonging to Edgewood. The completion date of the new resort complex is June, 2017. I do not know if this monument will be accessible to the general public but I would assume it can be if you visit the resort and request permission to visit as a guest. Just walk the resort beach to this station from the golf resort parking lot.

The NGS datasheet info for the copper bolt and granite monument:
