Hecla Island Lutheran Cemetery
Hecla Island's first church was a Lutheran Church built here in 1890. It was replaced with this larger one in 1927. In recent years, the church has become a non-denominational Community Church. The cemetery may not have been established until 1897.
One well-aged marker reads:

Driving Directions:
A causeway was built in 1971, so you can drive to this island.
After crossing the causeway on Hwy 8, continue 15.6 km to Hecla Village Road.
1. Turn right on Hecla Village Road and continue 5.9 km to the cemetery on your left.
or 2. Continue 7.0 km on Hwy 8 then turn right on Hecla Village Road and continue 1.3 km to the cemetery on your right.
