A cut benchmark & 1GL bolt on the north west corner of the bell tower, St Mary's church, Mary Tavy.

"This bench mark was used during the First primary levelling, England & Wales, and was levelled with a height of 566.1710 feet [172.5689 metres] above mean sea level (Liverpool datum). It was included as a side level on the Bridgewater to Plymouth levelling line. The surveyor's description was No. 460(b). Marytavy Church. Bolt in North-west angle of tower ; 2.28 ft. above surface."
