This Vertical Control Disc is mounted in the front steps of the historic Mead High School, now closed in the town of Mead, north of Spokane.

The old Mead High School is on the west side of Main Street, here still Market Street, in Mead, north of East 4th Avenue. The control disc is in the right rear of the top step of the north entrance on the east side of the building. This is the north entrance, near the centre of the building.

0.3 KILOMETER (0.2 MILE) NORTH ALONG MARKET STREET FROM THE POST OFFICE IN MEAD, ALSO 13.1 KILOMETERS (8.15 MILES) SOUTH ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 2 FROM THE JUNCTION OF CHATTAROY ROAD IN CHATTAROY, AT THE MEAD JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, SET IN TOP OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE TOP STEP OF THE CENTER MAIN ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING, 24.8 METERS (81.0 FEET) SOUTH OF THE FLAG POLE, 7.6 METERS (25.0 FEET) WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE SCHOOL ENTRANCE DRIVE.
