There is rough track heading north of the Challenge geocache, "Hidden Challenge", GC4VFT3, on Sugarloaf Road; which I was wanting to get, when I was at the Stanthorpe OzMega, Easter, 2015. Qualified for that one, and found it okay, and then carefully climbed through the fence to gain the gravel track. There was a few branches down, from a recent storm, but otherwise probably a Terrain 2½ walk.
The white painted concrete base is looking a bit drab, as is the white plastic post, with a coating of mould. There are black semi-circular vanes on top, that again could use another clean up and coat of paint.
The name plate states:
Central Mapping Authority
Geodetic Station
Sugarloaf
(So it may have been a 'joint effort' with NSW for the placing of this one.)
While I don't own the particular Liston 1:25,000 topographical map, and so I'm not 100% sure that the trig is shown, it would definitely show the track and the terrain to get there.
