The viewing platform is reached by ascending a cicular stairway of 25 steps inside the base of the lighthouse located on the end of the northern groyne at the entrance to Hillarys Marina.
On a clear day Fremantle ot the south, Rottnest Island to the west can be seen as well as the boats coming and going to the marina
