Nicely paited wayside shrine (Bildstock) from 1962 with a roof covered with wooden shingles in the centre of the small resort town Maria Wörth situated on a peninsula at the southern shore of the Wörthersee near Klagenfurt.

The typical Carintian wayside shrine with a roof covered with wooden shingles is located on a small square in the he centre of the small resort town Maria Wörth situated on a peninsula at the southern shore of the Wörthersee near Klagenfurt. It was build in 1962 thanks to lacal priest Paul Beier. The four niches of the wayside shrine were painted by Prof. Josefine Kreuzer from St. Nikolai near Keutschach.
One can find here painting of Saint Christopher, Saint Ruper, the founder and patron of Salzburg, second diocesan patron of Carinthia, Saint Corbinian, a Bishop of Freising (Partnerstadt of Maria Wörth) and Saint Hemma of Gurk, the patron saint of the Diocese of Gurk-Klagenfurt as well as of the Austrian state of Carinthia.
