Control Stations on the Lincoln Highway let travelers know when to reset their odometers to 0.0 when following the 1928 Route Odometer Charts, which indicated the mileage westbound to the next control station. There were 13 sections in Ohio.
The hotel, built by George Marsh opened in 1915. It had fifty guest rooms on four floors that were elegantly furnished. All had electric call bells, gas and electric light, hot and cold water, and bath and toilet rooms on each floor. In 1931 the hotel went through extensive remodeling.
Although the upper floors are only used for storage now, the main floor of the Hotel including lobby and dining room are used as a private banquet facility.
