Erie County's Central Library is located in the heart of downtown Buffalo. It is two floors and takes up two city blocks totaling 400,000 sq. ft. Over 2 million volumes are kept here including some rare and valuable materials. There are many computer terminals on both floors of the library both with and without internet access, and free wi-fi access is also available on the first floor.
The library is home to the Mark Twain room, which contains the original handwritten manuscript of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Also in the room is the antique walnut mantle from his now demolished Buffalo home and hundreds of other Twain publications including many first editions and foreign language copies.
A 324 seat auditorium with Steinway piano and two meeting rooms can be reserved for events.
