Amanda Jane Gibson was born 11 years before the US Civil War on 2 April 1850 in Greene County, Indiana. She married Isaac Long (1841-1914) from Shelby County, Tennesseee, who was 9 years her senior. (Hmmm. She from Indiana, He from Tennessee. Must have had some interesting discussions about The War Between the States!)

FindAGrave records 2 children from this couple. Isaac passed away near the beginning of World War I, when he was 72 years old, and Amanda was 64 years old. Amanda continued on another 37 years, passing away on 18 April 1951, a few years after World War II ended, and near the beginning of the Korean Conflict.
