Elta Mae Meeks was born in Willard, New Mexico on 29 April 1908. She married Baptist minister James Earl Vinson on 26 September 1925, and with him raised their family in Oklahoma and Missouri, eventually ending up in Sarcoxie. James passed away in 1996. Elta continued on until 18 October 2012, having passed her 104th birthday by half a year.
