From the front, it is one of the most beautiful churches of Porto, considered unique for its tiles. Behind, is constantly being graffitied. The rector of the Chapel of Souls is tired of the vandalism and calls for more vigilance.

Capela das Almas de Santa Catarina "Its construction dates back to the beginning of the century. XVIII.
The chapel has two bodies, being the second lowest, and has undergone expansion and renovation that changed the original style in 1801.
The coating is composed of 15,947 tiles that cover about 360 square meters of wall. The tiles on the chapel are by Eduardo Leite and were executed by the widow Lamego Ceramic Factory in Lisbon. Dating back to 1929 and represent the steps of the life of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Catherine, who are venerated in the chapel.
The main facade, especially the stained glass window that represents the soul, performed in the nineteenth century by the painter Amândio Silva."

The Historical Marker says:
"This chapel dating from the early 18th century was restored and extended in 1801. In 1929 the outer façades were faced with tiles by Eduardo Leite, produced by Fábrica de Cerâmica Viúva Lamego. On the inside the altars are in the neoclassical style and they house an 18th century image of Our Lady of Souls."
