American Legion Post 83 - Whitehall, NY - Legion Posts and Branches on Waymarking.com

In Whitehall, across from Riverside Park, is the headquarters for the American Legion Post 83.

The post is on the west side of Main Street, next to the Amtrak Station and south of a truss bridge over the Champlain Canal.

The headquarters is in two buildings, attached: a low, 1 1/2 story, building, and a 3 1/2 story building that has a dated stone that includes the words, "Masonic Hall 1860."

The building is made of brick, most of which is painted grey. The roof is sheet metal. There are entrances both from the road and from the parking lot with the Amtrak Station, and there are signs at both locations.

This post installed a large multi-war memorial in Riverside Park, between the park and Champlain Canal.
