This public monument of the municipality of Unkelbach is located nearby the church St. Remigius in Unkelbach. The monument is dedicated to the victims of World War I and World War II.
The monument is mostly built of basalt columns. Basalt played a big role in the history of Unkelbach, because of the former quarry there, basalt is also to find in the local coat of arms. On various panels around the monument are the names engraved of the fallen and missing sons.
