The National Commando Training Centre (CNEC) has its origins in the epic of the 1st Battalion Parachute Shock and commando groups (African, Provence, Cluny, Paris and France) who took an active part in Liberation of France between 1943 and 1945, including Corsica, Provence and Alsace.
The CNEC perpetuates the memory of those glorious units and keep custody of their flags and emblems. In memory of the 1st Battalion of Shock, its motto is "always on edge."
Proud of the legacy and spirit of the shock troops, the CNEC now has a mission to provide skills training, mainly to managers and future managers of the Army, but also to contribute to the hardening of students initial training schools and units of ground forces.
