A brick viewing tower with a square shaped layout and an eight-sided surface for the viewing platform, which is covered by an eight-sided spire roof. The viewing platform itself is made from wood. The building structure stands on the highest point of the Chlum Hill. The viewing tower offers a beautiful view of Šumavu - from the Bohemian Forest through Central Šumava all the way to the Prachatice Region and Lipensko Region, to Blatna, Písek and Brdy.

Historie rozhledny na vrchu Chlum nad obcí Chanovice na Horaždovicku se zacíná psát v roce 2006, kdy je položen základní kámen. Po nekolikaletém úsilí Obcanského sdružení PANORÁMA prevzala záštitu nad další realizací rozhledny obec Chanovice. Stavba samotná však zacala až v roce 2008, kdy byly získány další prostredky na realizaci. Ta trvala do roku 2010, kdy konkrétne dne 6.8.2010 došlo k slavnostnímu odemcení rozhledny panem senátorem Šnebergerem za úcasti lidí zainteresovaných na stavbe rozhledny a mnoha návštevníku. 28 metru vysokou stavbu z betonových tvárnic o pudorysu 5x5 m s osmibokou drevenou krytou vyhlídkou a ocelovým schodištem vyprojektoval Ing. arch. Jirí Kucera z Horaždovic.
