"Seit Anfang August befindet sich auf dem Salhofplatz eine von der Süwag zur Verfügung gestellte E-Bike-Ladestaion. Hier kann nun Strom für die Elektroräder getankt und anschließend weitergeradelt werden. Die offizielle Übergabe erfolgte durch Horst Schmelzeis, Standortleiter der Süwag-Netztocher Syna, an Oberbürgermeister Peter Labonte und Landrat Frank Puchtler. Mit dabei waren auch einige Beteiligte der Firma Laufrad aus Lahnstein und waren sichtlich angetan von dieser Ladestation. Auch Petra Bückner, Leiterin der Touristinformation, freut sich sehr über diese Ladestation. „So brauchen sich die Touristen, die sich unsere Stadt mit dem Elektrorad anschauen möchten, keine Sorgen um ihre Akkukapazität zu machen. Das ist eine tolle Sache“, so Bückner.
Beim ersten Blick auf die Ladestation denkt der ein oder andere vielleicht an ein Bahnhofsschließfach, da die Station einer solchen optisch sehr ähnlich ist. Und auch die Funktion ist ähnlich. Denn während sich der Akku des Rades wieder auflädt, besteht die Möglichkeit das Gepäck und den Fahrradhelm sicher zu verstauen. "Eine praktische Lösung, die den Radlern eine gute Möglichkeit gibt, die Ladedauer unbeschwert zu nutzen“, so Labonte. Zudem ist das Ganze kostenlos."
