In Whitehall, along the shore of Champlain Canal, is a World War I Memorial.
The memorial is located within the park, near the sidewalk to Main Street.
The memorial is a plaque on a roughly hewn stone, then flanked by bushes. On one side is a machine gun.
The plaque has the following on it:
