TEXAS CITY — Our beloved, Virgel James Stoker was born July 1, 1985 in Texas City, Texas to Janice Marie Stoker and Virgel Smith, IV.
Virgel was a graduate of Texas City High School in 2003. While in high school he excelled in athletics, football and weight lifting. After his graduation, he attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas.
A free spirited soul, Virgel was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Dallas Group of America, Port of Texas City. He was a member of ILA Local #1504 and “A Few Good Men” of Texas City.
Virgel’s earthly journey came to a close on February 11, 2012 in Texas City, Texas. Left to cherish memories of his life are his mother, Janice Marie Stoker; father, Virgel Smith IV; children, Addison Lynn Stoker and Kaison Dieon Stoker; grandparents, Pearlie Mae Stoker, Elizabeth Smith and Virgel Smith III; brother, Tyler Zachary Stoker; step-brother, Marcus Alexander; sisters, Toya Smith and Tairosha Doyle; and a host of loving family members and devoted friends.
Services will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 227 4th Ave N in Texas City with visitation on Friday, February 17th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and the Home Going Celebration on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery in La Marque. www.mainlandfhlamarque.com
