This triangulation station is located just south of Burns Junction (Ore. Hwy. 78 and U.S. Hwy. 95). The cap is set on a buried 2” pipe about 125 feet east of highway centerline. The cap was set by the US Coast & Geologic Survey in 1956 and marked JUNCTION.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1956 (LSB) THE STATION IS ABOUT 55 MILES NORTH OF MC DERMITT NEVADA, ABOUT 11 MILES WEST OF ROME OREGON, 0.3 MILE SOUTHWEST OF A SERVICE STATION, THAT IS IN THE Y FORMED BY THE JUNCTION OF OREGON STATE HIGHWAY 78 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 95 AND 0.1 MILE SOUTH OF THE SOUTH JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 95 AND STATE HIGHWAY 78. THE STATION IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED JUNCTION 1956. IT IS BRAZED TO A LENGTH OF 2-INCH SOIL PIPE SET IN THE GROUND AND PROJECTS 8 INCHES. THE MARK IS EAST OF A ROCK CUT IN U.S. HIGHWAY 95, 126 FEET EAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE HIGHWAY AND 8 FEET EAST OF A WHITE WITNESS POST. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED JUNCTION NO 1 1956. IT IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN A BOULDER THAT IS 2 FEET LONG, 16 INCHES WIDE AND PROJECTS 3 INCHES. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED JUNCTION NO 2 1956. IT IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN A BOULDER THAT IS 1 FOOT SQUARE AND PROJECTS 2 INCHES. THE AZIMUTH MARK IS A STANDARD DISK STAMPED JUNCTION 1956. IT IS CEMENTED IN A DRILL HOLE IN A BOULDER THAT IS 2 FEET LONG, 1 FOOT WIDE AND PROJECTS 2 INCHES. THE MARK IS 57.4 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 95 AND 2 FEET WEST OF A WHITE WITNESS POST. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH MARK FROM THE STATION, GO SOUTH ON U.S. HIGHWAY 95 FOR 0.4 MILE TO THE MARK ON THE RIGHT, WEST.
