When shipped to Australia after the war it had no wheels & was put on display on the local railway station before being relocated to the Showgrounds. After consultation between Wandoan RSL & Taroom Shire Council is was decided to preserve the gun & display it in an appropriate setting.

Following restoration which comprised construction of new wheels based on similar field pieces, sand blasting to bare metal & repainting in authentic battleground colour, the gun was mounted in its present location in 2001.

Guns of this size were generally shipped as trophies after the war but the Australian War Memorial has no record of this gun.
