The plaque says, "Designed by architect Emery Roth and completed in 1930, the San Remo was the first twin-towered residential skyscraper built on Central Park West. A graceful fusion of modern and traditional forms, the building is conferred to be among Roth's finest works. Its towers soar twenty-seven stories above the street; crowning each tower is a roman style corinthian temple topped by a twenty-two foot copper lantern. Italian Renaissance details in terra cotta, metal, and limestone embellish the facade. Similar detailers are carried into the building's handsome lobbies. Together with its twin-towerd neighbors to the north and south, The San Remo anchors the Magnificent Central Park West skyline."
