This grey granite obelisk is located at Section D, Site 590 in the San Antonio National Cemetery. This marker is unusual due to the fact that the Woodmen Seal is on the reverse of the obelisk. The inscription reads:

"Occupation: Carpenter

Enlisted in the United State Army 04 July 1885 for a period of 5 years. Place of enlistment: Camp Rice (Fort Hancock), TX. Arrived at Fort Concho (San Angelo) 18 May 1888, transferred to Fort Davis 02 July 1888. Assignments: 16th US Infantry, Company C and 5th US Infantry, Company J. Was discharged from the Army (Fort Davis) 03 Jul 1890 as a private."
