Tlumacov is situated 4 km to the south of Domažlice on the edge of former frontiers deep. The first written notice is from the year 1325 and this place has a very rich history. At the Chodenland rebellion in 1693 the Tlumacov inhabitants connected with the farmers from Upper Chodenland and fled in forests between Tlumacov and Havlovice. The rebellion began in July 6th, but already in July 13th the representatives of Chodenland villages, except the Pocinovský and Lhotský, submitted to the lords. The most radical rebel was Adam Forst of Tlumacov. In the second rebellion in year 1767 the Tlumacov inhabitants belonged to the most defiant farmers. In 1654 lived in village 27 landowners, in 1757 it were still 57 landowners. Inl930 the village consisted from 111 houses in that has lived 573 inhabitants.

This high point—so called Kubícek's rock offers general view from this place. It is intensified with rock, on that is built this observation platform strategically. The opened landscape in the south-east direction uncover except the village Tlumacov also the panorama of hilly area Kdyne with the transmitter and observation at the highest peak with name Koráb (773 meters above the sea). There is the tower of Rýzmberk castle that is accessible for tourists lightly left covered below. The hilly área Kdyne is named after the town Kdyne that is situated below this hilly ridge. When we look at south, we can see as the peaks^of Bohemian forest in the area of Nýrsko these continue in the direction to Železná Ruda and Bayerisch Eiscnstein as the part of czech-bavarian frontiers ridge behind the nearest horizon.
