The original castle from the 13th cent, was the administrative centre of the surrounding Chodsko region. Then it was severely damaged by a fire at the end of the 16th cent, and abandoned for a long time. It is only in 1772 that the owners of the estate had it rebuilt. Laterit was a seat of administration. Today it houses a museum of the Chodsko region.

Puvodní hrad ze 13. stol. byl správním strediskem okolního Chodska. Požárem na konci 16. stol. byl silne poškozen a na delší dobu zustal opuštený. Teprve v r. 1722 jej dali majitelé panství prestavet na solnici, od r. 1841 zde sídlily správní úrady. V soucasnosti muzeum Chodska.
