The current church was built in 1970 however the original church was built in the 1890's & the bell tower probably dates from those early days.
It caught my attention because of the manner in which the bell is rung. The bell ringer stands on a loose block of wood directly under the bell & then reaches up, steadying himself by hanging onto a support, & grabs hold of a loop of wire attached to the bell. That's as far as I took the experiment as the priest was saying prayers at the altar (by himself).
