Built at the end of the First World War it embodied the sense of relief & hope for the future after this conflict. The population of Binnaway has declined over the years & the pub became vacant before being purchased recently with the intention of reopening fully in the future. It now has a cafe & I had an enjoyable lunch there, meeting a couple of citizens as well as the new owners.

The hotel became famous when it was the scene for the movie "The Shiralee" filmed in 1956 & starring Peter Finch & Bud Tingwell. You can walk through the hotel & view photographs relating to the movie.
Year of construction: 1918
