One of two vintage road graders on display in front of the Amherst Island road maintenance garages. The larger of the two, it is of 1920's vintage. It and its companion were used here on the Island until the 1950's, when more modern methods of grading and smoothing were introduced.
The completion of asphalt pavement on the main roads further reduced the requirement.
This grader is of unknown make, possibly by Adams & Company of Chicago.
Access is from Stella 40 Foot Road, just south of the Village of Stella.
