Boat anchor most likely used on one of the many commercial fishing boats that used to populate Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte.
Anchor is situated next to the entrance to the Amherst Island Museum just north of East Front Street in Stella.
Just past the anchor is the alternate ferry dock for the island, used only in emergency and extended maintenance situations.
